I didn't start here.

I spent ten years in post-operative and telemetry nursing first, which is a long way of saying I spent a decade with people on their worst days, learning what safety actually looks like when it matters. That's the part of my background I lean on most. Not the artistry. The judgment.

The shift happened while I was working in same-day surgery. I kept noticing how much it meant to people to feel like themselves again, and at some point I realized I wanted to be on that side of it. I started with eyebrow microblading, which sounds unrelated to injecting but really isn't. It trains you to look at a face and see proportion before you see a procedure, and I still do that in every consultation.

Not the artistry. The judgment.

I've owned the medspa, and I've closed the medspa.

That grew into Dolce Aesthetics, the medspa my husband and I owned and ran for two years. He was deployed for one of them, and I had a newborn, so for a stretch there I was running a business, injecting, and doing bedtime largely on my own. I learned to hold a lot at once that year, and not drop any of it. That hasn't left me. We closed the business in 2020. We just didn't renew the lease, because nobody knew what COVID was about to do to anything, and signing for another year felt like a bet I wasn't willing to make with a young family.

I don't regret any of it, including the closing. Two years of owning the thing taught me more about this industry than any course has. After that I spent about six years at another medspa before coming to Meesha, and those years were about the craft. Better hands, better judgment, more training, and a lot of faces.

I go to two or three hands-on advanced trainings a year. Not because anyone makes me, but because this field moves fast and I'd rather be the person still showing up to learn after seven years than the person who decided she already knew.

What that adds up to in the room.

I'll ask what's bothering you before I say a single word about product. I'll often tell you that you need less than you came in asking for. And if I don't think injectables are the right answer for what you described, I'll tell you that too, even though it isn't what you were hoping to hear.

My philosophy isn't complicated. The best results enhance what's already there. You should look rested and balanced and like yourself, and nobody should be able to point at the thing that changed.

Outside the treatment room you'll usually find me with a coffee. And one of these days, I'm going to see the Northern Lights.
